Almost a year and a half ago, I wrote a post about my favorite moment of the day. A lot has changed since then – we’re both older (I’m just more worn out, really, hah) so the rhythm of our day is totally different. She’s now only on 1 nap a day, so our day is filled with activities – there are a lot of favorite moments to choose from. I have to admit, I recently have been feeling super guilty about taking her to run errands for either work or the home renovation. So when I can, I try and take her out to do things that she loves to do, like going to the museum, the splash pad, or riding the trolley at The Americana.
While having an almost 3 year old is really (mostly) so much fun, I think my favorite moment of the day is the time right before we put her to bed. We gather together as a family and read stories that we’ve borrowed from the library that week, and we put everything aside to just be with one another without distraction. Olive has never really been a big cuddler (she gets that from my husband *side eye*) , so being able to snuggle up to her and smell her head for a good 30 minutes is kind of a dream. I hope this will be a nightly routine that we can keep up for a good long time.
What is your favorite moment of the day with your kid? Tell me, I’d love to hear.
