I’m headed to Chicago today for the first time ever! Patrick and I will be attending a wedding there this weekend, and we cannot wait to celebrate with the happy couple. We’re only there for a short 48 hours, but intend to soak in as much of Chicago as we can.
Here are some interesting facts about Chicago that you probably didn’t know….(thanks, Google!)
1. The first all-color TV station debuted in Chicago (Channel 5).
2. Chicago has the largest collection of Impressionist paintings outside of Paris.
3. Walt Disney was born in Chicago in 1901. He studied drawing at Chicago’s McKinley High School and the Institute of Fine Arts.
4. The Lincoln Park Zoo, is one of the last major free zoos in the country. It is also one of the country’s oldest zoos with an estimated annual attendance of 3.5 million.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!
