Summer Beauty Essentials

SUMMER-BEAUTY-ESSENTIALS

What, it’s not summer yet?

(I’m totally calling it summer already. Isn’t Memorial Day the ‘unofficial’ start to the summer season? That’s what I’m going by, then.)

I have to admit that I’m a bit of a product whore{der}. I love Sephora, every time I walk in there I leave with way too many new things. Because of this, my bathroom is in a constant state of disarray.

However, these products above have been tested, tried and true – I am faithful to these few, especially during the hot, summer months. These really are my beauty bag staples.

Eminence Organic Skin Care Clear Skin Probiotic Masque: I kind of hate my skin. I’ve suffered from acne since I was a tween, and my skin has always been terrible. This mask isn’t a cure all, but it definitely soothes my skin when I’m having a particularly bad break out season. Warning: this mask it totally minty and tingly on the skin….and 100% addicting.

Josie Maran Light Argan Oil: During the summer months, I switch from her regular Argan Oil formulation for this lighter one. It actually makes your skin dewy, not oily, and it absorbs quickly. It gives me great, light moisture and does not make me break out. I smooth it on clean skin before my makeup, and also at night before bed.

Benefit Erase Paste Concealer: I like this concealer for my under eye area because it really covers (hello, dark circles, why won’t you go away) and it’s creamy. My undereye area has always been dry, so that moisture helps. Also, this pot seems to last forever. A little goes a long way!

Bare Minerals Original Mineral Foundation: In the summer months, I switch back to Bare Minerals because I just can’t bear to have liquid foundation on my face; it’s just too heavy. This powder is light, and you can build coverage naturally. It also lasts a stunningly long time for just being powder. Which is great, since I have zero time for touch-ups.

Kerastase Masquintense for Thick Hair: Ever since having Olive, my hair has had a mind of it’s own. I don’t think I’m imagining it, but I think pregnancy hormones have changed my hair texture from straight, to coarse. And with this heatwave we’ve been having, my hair is now fried since I’m out in the sun all day with Olive. Since then, I’ve depended on a slew of smoothing serums and straight irons, but mostly, it’s this deep conditioner that really saves the day. I use it once a week, and leave it on for 10-15 minutes, and rinse with cool water.

Diqtyque Eau Rose: I have searched the ends of the earth for the perfect rose perfume. I love that scent (oddly, not so much the flower). I’ve tried many, but I’ve finally found my perfect match.
