When we first moved into our home, I made my husband paint an entire wall of our dining room into a chalkboard. I had great plans for this space – I would write recipes on it, I would draw and doodle….I would make it a creative outlet.
But of course, I didn’t.
And the board just sat there, all black and dusty and empty.
However, when we had Olive’s first birthday in our home, I wanted to really decorate – so I started to draw. And more than liking the outcome, I liked how it made me feel doing it. I was creating.
I have decided to change up the board once a month from now on. I’m hoping it will breathe new life into the space each month, but more than that, I hope to give myself a creative outlet and a space to hopefully rediscover some joy outside of just Olive.
So here is Chalkboard Art December 2013
Let’s hope I can keep this up!
(If I don’t, please leave a comment on my blog urging me to get off my butt and do something about it….please?)
